Notas al pie: iPad

Como sé que no tengo mayor argumento en torno a los pros y contras del iPad de Apple (no soy precisamente un fanboy tecnológico y se me hace curioso lo rápido que catástrofes mundiales, avionazos, y abusos de poder no logran restarle candela al furor de este dispositivo electrónico... quizás porque resulta el distractor perfecto para huir de esas otras realidades) encuentro bastante entretenidos los comentarios en un artículo reciente de Advertising Age, escrito por Simon Dumenco (Por qué el IPad me ha inspirado a renunciar a mi tostadora, mi cafetera, mis pantalones):

Apple's "cult of cool" is contingent upon people who like to be told how to use their technology. There might be an app for every conceivable little thing you could want to do on a mobile phone, but that logic makes less sense on a device that behaves more like a PC. As it stands, the iPad is like a high school prom queen -- pretty now, but likely to be remembered less fondly down the road when others have the ability to blossom into something more meaningful.

the iPad reminds me of the Fender Stratocaster and the Gibson Les Paul. There were six string electric guitars before. But the sleek hardwood body, thin neck and close action felt good when playing. And strong magnetic pickups increased the range of the instrument, including harmonic effects, sustained notes, crystal clear tones and electronic distortion.

The negative whiners are like the folkies who booed Bob Dylan when he went electric. If you can extend the range of a device, it makes it worth it to the people who find a use for it.
